America's Kingdoms by Javaad Alipoor (WIP)

Commissioned with development support from The Democracy Cycle, a programme of Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) and Civis Foundation.

A raw work-in-progress sharing of a new play by two-time Fringe First Award winner Javaad Alipoor, America's Kingdom is a new work exploring oil, technology, power and the stories nations tell about themselves.

Part satire, part fictional documentary, and part surreal journey through the oil fields of Latin America and the Middle East, America's Kingdom explores the entanglement of fossil fuel power, emerging technologies, and what it might mean to escape the past.

This is an opportunity to experience a new work from The Javaad Alipoor Company at an early stage of its development.
