Dance Evening - Experience Lowry CAT

INTERESTED IN DANCE? WANT TO TRAIN AND CREATE WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE?

This event offers you the chance to sample an evening of Lowry CAT dance training in our Lowry studios. Expect artistic discovery and fun physical challenge!

Who: For ages 10-16 with a passion for dance and an interest in training in more depth

No prior formal training experience necessary.

Date: Thursday 29th October

Time: 6 – 8.30 pm

Cost: £5

What to expect:

• Warm-up
• Contemporary Dance Technique Class – no prior experience necessary
• Creative Dance Workshop
• There will be a Sharing for parents/carers and a presentation on CAT

Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) at LOWRY is a pre-vocational dance training programme for young people aged 11-18 years.

Funded by the Department for Education Music and Dance Scheme, CATs exist to help identify, and assist, children with promising potential, regardless of their personal circumstances, to benefit from world-class specialist training as part of a broad and balanced education whilst living at home and staying at school. This will enable them, if they choose, to proceed towards self-sustaining careers in dance.

Lowry CAT students benefit from training at Lowry, immersed in cultural experiences including classes accompanied by live musicians. CAT students develop a range of physical, artistic and life skills by working with excellent tutors and industry-leading visiting artists and dance companies.
