How do we negotiate a world where technology and screen time scream at us daily? How does a mother begin to understand her son’s needs, while at the same time navigating her own? What do we lose if we try to hold onto something that doesn’t exist?

Produced by Tamsin Shasha, in association with Actors of Dionysus, Monster Mum brings together award-winning creatives including writer and performer Tamsin Shasha, director and dramaturg Helen Tennison and sound composer/designer Matt Eaton, alongside videographer Xiaomin Fan, Lighting Designer Nick Bush, Stage Manager Julia Rahn and creative technologists, Lucy Wheeler and BRiGHTBLACK.

Forgive Me consolidates the critical success of multi award-winning Everything I See I Swallow (Summerhall 2019) and similarly responds to the challenges and turbulence where we are in the world, offering a compelling and nuanced exploration of its themes.

Using dynamic movement and videography the play explores the challenges of modern parenthood and the disconnect between a mother and son as they each navigate their separate neurodiverse worlds, ultimately connecting in an explosion of mutual understanding.
