Songs for an Unwritten Sky is a performance exploring the past, present, and imagined futures of Pier 8 at Salford Quays.
Blending music, poetry, and acrobatics, acclaimed theatre maker Natalie Reckert creates a performance inspired by the memories, experiences, and hopes of the people who live and work in Salford. Accompanied by musician Xenia Garden and acrobat-singer Joana Dias the piece weaves together stories of community, resilience, and aspiration, imagining more communal, ecological, and collaboratively created futures for our cities.
This project is supported by Arts Council England and the New Authors Circus Development Programme.
You are warmly invited to contribute to the project. Each selected participant will receive £50 for their contribution.
You can do one or more of the following:
- Take a photograph of a place in Salford
- Share a memory connected to that place
- Tell us about a wish you have for its future
You can also submit:
- A voice note
- A piece of music that reminds you of the place
- A drawing, sketch or image
- Any other creative response you would like to share
You don’t need any artistic experience to take part. A single thought, image, memory or feeling is enough.
