For the first time, Beau Miles is taking his Secret Screenings on the road in the UK, bringing new, unreleased films to intimate venues in 2027. Three or four of Beau's films, shown somewhere between first and final draft, but entirely watchable, will be shown then chewed over by Beau with insight into the hijinks of being a mediocre YouTuber.
Beau is an Australian filmmaker and former outdoor education lecturer who spent years running and kayaking across formidable landscapes before casting his curiosity towards places closer to home. Now, from a little farmlet in Gippsland, Victoria, he’s embracing what he’s called a ‘midlife adventure-crisis’ challenging himself to experiment with off kilter, creative ideas. Sometimes remarkable, but often mundane and occasionally disgusting, all of them aim to be interesting.
Beau will tell stories about why the films are the way they are, why he loves finding things, and why he aims to shower more. Many of the stories you’ll hear will have nothing to do with the films. That's part of the deal.
The evening finishes with a Q&A, which is often said by patrons to be a feasible use of time, money and space.
