This enjoyable workshop helps pupils build confidence and creativity as they explore basic drawing skills, including line, tone, and texture, using a range of media led by a professional artist. Each workshop will be adapted to your key stage.

Pupils taking part will:

  • Learn the correct way to hold a pencil and gain control over its movement, laying the foundation for confident and precise drawing.
  • Gain an understanding of various types of lines—straight, curved, thick, and thin and their use in creating dynamic and expressive drawings.
  • Learn how to create light and dark areas in their artwork, using pencil techniques to  add depth and contrast.
  • A chance to experiment with a variety of materials, such as pencils, crayons, and charcoal, to explore textures and expand their artistic possibilities.
  • Learn to apply basic techniques in a supportive and creative setting to strengthen their skills and enjoyment of drawing.
