LOWRY 360 is a FREE immersive experience of LS Lowry’s ‘Going to The Match’ painting, animated and projected in super-high resolution onto the walls and floor of the immersive space. Straight afterwards, you can view the original ‘Going to The Match’ painting along with other LS Lowry works.

Access
Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchair and mobility scooter users can access LOWRY 360. However, due to capacity Lowry staff may need to limit how many personalised mobility devices can be in the space.
Lowry has step free access, including lifts and an escalator. There is an accessible toilet close to the galleries.

Do visitors with access needs and their companions both need a ticket?
Yes, you will need to book a free ticket for all visitors attending this immersive experience.
Please note there is limited capacity for each showing, so please book in advance of your visit following the information on our website.
Are assistance dogs welcome in the experience and galleries?
- Yes, well behaved assistance dogs can go into LOWRY 360 and the Galleries. Assistance dogs are professionally trained to support people with disabilities and have a legal right of access under the Equality Act 2010. Please notify the Galleries Welcome Desk staff on arrival.
- We regret that emotional support animals, including pets that provide comfort but are not trained as assistance dogs, do not have the same legal rights and are not permitted in our venue.
- We ask that your dog stay by your side throughout the duration of the immersive film.
- Please note that the experience does include a loud voiceover, music, and noises, and quick moving images.
Does the experience contain loud noises?
- LOWRY 360 includes a loud voiceover, music, noises, and quick moving images.
- A limited number of adult, child, and baby-sized ear defenders are available for visitors to use, please speak to a member of staff on arrival to the Galleries.
Is seating provided in the experience?
- This 6-minute immersive experience is projected onto the walls and floor, and visitors are encouraged to walk around and explore the space.
- This is a standing experience, however seating can be provided for access screenings.
- If you have any mobility concerns, please speak to a member of staff.
How do I know if the immersive is suitable for my health condition?
- The immersive experience includes some fast-moving images, floor effects, and varying light levels in an enclosed space 10 x 10m.
- Please be aware that these elements may cause symptoms of motion sickness including nausea, dizziness, and headaches. View discretion is advised.
- Visitors who have any concerns are advised to speak to a member of staff upon arrival.
How long does the experience last?
- The immersive film lasts for 6 minutes.
- Each timed session lasts for 15 minutes to allow visitors to enter and exit the immersive gallery comfortably and for staff to get the space ready for the next group.
- If you are visiting the whole of the Andrew Law Galleries, we advise that you leave 30-45 minutes for your visit, including LOWRY 360.
Will I be able to leave the experience once it has started?
- The film lasts for 6 minutes, and because it is fully immersive, we kindly ask for comfort breaks to be taken before entering the space.
- If you need to exit the experience early, please speak to the member of gallery staff who will be in the immersive gallery with you.
- A member of staff will welcome you into LOWRY 360. Please speak to them if you have any questions.
Are there times when the experience will be less busy?
- The Galleries can sometimes be less busy in the afternoons on weekdays.
- The Galleries has monthly Relaxed Sessions, usually on a Sunday, where the capacity for LOWRY 360 is reduced. Please see our website for upcoming Relaxed Sessions.
Can I take a buggy into the experience?
- Individuals with a buggy or pram can enter the Galleries as usual. However, if LOWRY 360 is especially busy we will provide a buggy park in designated areas.
- If you have an essential buggy (for children with disabilities and babies who are unable to walk), please inform our staff at the gallery welcome desk and they will help you.
Can I breastfeed in the experience?
- Visitors are welcome to breast feed and bottle feed their babies in the Galleries. Please be aware the LOWRY 360 duration is 6-minutes, and the sound levels will be loud.
- There is no seating in LOWRY 360. Benches, an armchair and portable fold out stools are available in other areas on the gallery.
- If you would prefer not to breast feed in the Galleries, please speak to a member of staff for directions to alternative spaces.

Can groups book to visit the experience?
- Yes, groups can book the experience. For information on how, please visit our website.
- There is a limit of up to 35 people per timeslot and each person in a group will need to have a ticket to enter the immersive space.
- If your group is larger than 35 people you will need to book tickets over separate times slots.
Please be aware that on occasion a times session is split into two groups.
What is there an age limit for the experience?
LOWRY 360 is suitable for all ages. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Do I need to book a ticket for my child?
Yes, you will need to book a free ticket for all visitors attending LOWRY 360.
Can I book tickets to the experience at the Galleries Welcome Desk?
Walk-in visitors can speak to the Galleries Welcome Desk staff to see if there is any capacity on the day for individual slots.
To avoid disappointment, we advise that you book tickets in advance of your visit. Buy them here.
Do I need to arrive early for the experience?
Please arrive 10 minutes before the entry time on your ticket. Late arrivals will be unable to enter LOWRY 360 once the immersive film has started.
On arrival at Lowry, please make your way to the gallery welcome desk at the top of escalators.
What do I do if I miss my immersive timeslot?
If you miss your pre-booked timeslot, speak to the gallery welcome desk. We will check any availability at other times. Alternatively, you can book another ticket online for a different timeslot that works for you.
Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that there will be same-day availability.
If you have missed your accessible LOWRY 360 timeslot (BSL, Audio Described, Captioned, Relaxed or Dementia Friendly), please check our website for the next available slot. This will likely not be on the same day. You would be welcome to attend a regular LOWRY 360 slot, if you should wish to.
Will I need to queue for the experience?
- Yes, you will need to queue for a short time.
- A member of staff will check and scan your ticket.
Can I take bags into the experience?
- Bags and small backpacks are permitted in LOWRY 360 but will need to be always carried.
Personal belongings cannot be stored on the floor or against the walls of LOWRY 360, to avoid disrupting the projections and visual experience. - If you have an item larger than cabin bag size (55cm x 40cm x 20cm) you will be asked to leave it in The Lowry's cloakroom (£2 per item).
- No items of luggage can be wheeled around LOWRY 360 or the Galleries - please carry your bags at all times.
- Exceptions will only be made for bags containing essential medical provisions/equipment or baby changing items that require larger bags.
Where can I store my personal belongings?
- When you arrive at Lowry you will be met by a member of staff at the Welcome Desk opposite the front doors, in the entrance foyer. Please ask them for directions to the cloakroom (£2 per item).
- We cannot take luggage at the Galleries Welcome Desk. Staff will direct visitors with large bags back to the Welcome Desk in the entrance foyer.
- Our cloakroom is located on the ground floor, and the Galleries are located on the second floor. For more information, please refer to our Virtual Tour.
Can I take food or drink into the experience?
- No food or drink is allowed in LOWRY 360 or in the Andrew Law Galleries.
- Please visit our Lowry Coffee Shop or the Lowry Bar & Kitchen for some lovely refreshments. For more information, please visit our website.
Can I take photographs in the experience?
There is strictly no photography or recording in the immersive.
Is there a Lowry Giftshop?
Yes, Lowry has a beautiful giftshop, selling unique gifts, art-inspired homeware, and exclusive Lowry books, as well as quality LS Lowry prints. For more information, please visit our website.
