LS Lowry Workshops

Pupils taking part in LS Lowry Visual Art workshops will be supported to:

• Gain an understanding of LS Lowry's distinctive style and themes, including his iconic industrial scenes and figures.
• Learn and apply the foundational concepts of perspective and proportion, inspired by Lowry’s work.
• Develop their own creative response through artwork, crafting industrial scenes with simple shapes and figures.
• Explore their artistic expression using drawing, painting, or collage, inspired by Lowry’s vibrant use of colours and shapes.

Pupils taking part in LS Lowry Drama workshops will be supported to:

• Immerse themselves in LS Lowry's distinctive style and themes, exploring his iconic industrial scenes and figures through performance and storytelling.
• Create their own dramatic responses, crafting narratives and characters inspired by the people and places depicted in Lowry’s paintings.
• Express their creativity through role-play, improvisation, and collaborative performance, bringing Lowry’s vibrant scenes to life in an engaging and interactive way. 

Pupils taking part in Mindfulness and LS Lowry’s Seascapes workshops will be supported to:

• Take time to quietly observe LS Lowry’s seascapes, noticing colours, movement and mood, and reflecting on how seascape scenes can make us feel calm, curious or reflective.
• Using simple mindfulness activities inspired by the sea (such as breathing, listening and gentle focus) to help children relax, concentrate and express their thoughts through art. 
• Exploring line, colour and space in Lowry’s seascapes before creating their own artwork, encouraging imagination, confidence and personal interpretation.
