This is Rambert

Tue 07 Jul 2026 - Thu 09 Jul 2026

We’re 100 — and just getting started.

This is Rambert; now, as we’ve always been; living and breathing dance DNA; committed to putting the spotlight on voices, visions and ideas shaping our world today. Dance that’s alive with urgency, energy and relevance.

For our centenary, we bring together handpicked, bite-size, high-impact works from artists with something urgent to say — including work from (LA)HORDE, Emma Evelein, and a brand-new commission. Works that speak of the now, amplify untold stories, thrive on difference and match the speed and intensity of modern life.

This programme captures what matters right now — a glimpse of the future from the company that has always led the way.

This is Rambert.

A Lowry Partner Company.

Programme

Gallery of Consequence

Airports are unusual places. Every gate tells a story, and every departure marks a choice. Commissioned by Rambert in 2024, Gallery of Consequence is choreographed by Emma Evelein, who reflects on the moments that shape lives through the endless choices and consequences within our internal worlds. With striking sounds and visuals, Rambert’s dancers bring to life the chaos, quiet, and human connections found in transit.

About Emma Evelein

Emma Evelein is a Dutch choreographer and filmmaker whose work blends visceral physicality with cinematic storytelling. Her choreography has been recognised internationally, earning awards including the Kurt Jooss Prize and the Dutch Academy Award for Best Short Film.

Hop(e)storm by (LA)HORDE

Commissioned by Rambert in 2025 and created in collaboration with the company's dancers, it reawakens Lindy Hop's call for equality, freedom, and collective joy, bringing its infectious energy to the stage with a contemporary, high-octane twist.

In Crimson

In Crimson moves between what's seen and what's hidden- from the front of the stage to behind the curtain, from what unfolds in full view to what simmers just out of sight. It brings you into those in-between spaces: charged, intimate and alive with the tension of performance.

An intimate work in which seven people are lost in a state of passion.

Director-choreographers Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber collaborate across dance, opera, theatre and film. In Crimson is a new collaboration that brings their acclaimed work to the UK for the very first time in a European premiere shaped by the extraordinary physicality and artistry of Rambert’s dancers. With original music by Yonatan Daskal performed live on stage.
